Role Persona

Privacy Policy

How Role Persona handles your information.

This policy explains what Role Persona collects when you visit the site or take the Assessment, why, who processes it, and how to reach us about it.

Who we are and who this is for

Role Persona is operated by LGV Media Group LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the public website at rolepersona.com and the Assessment you can start from it.

Role Persona is intended for adults aged 18 or older and is designed for people in the United States who are considering a career change. We do not ask for your date of birth and do not run a separate age check. If we become aware that someone under 13 has used the Assessment, we stop that session and remove the related information.

What we collect

We collect only what the Assessment and this experiment need. In plain terms:

A browser identity
When you start the Assessment we set a cookie holding an opaque identifier so the same browser can continue, resume, and return to its result. It is not an account, the cookie value itself is not your name, it is not shared across devices, and it is not matched to you by fingerprinting. If the cookie expires or you clear it, you start as a new participant.
A preferred name, if you choose to give one
Early in the Assessment the Guide asks what you would like to be called. You can skip the question. We keep only the short preferred name, not the full wording of your reply, and use it sparingly in the conversation and once in the result introduction. It is not treated as career evidence.
What you write in the Assessment
Your responses, the Guide's replies, the interpretations drawn from your responses, and the personalized result. This is saved so the conversation can continue across visits and so your result is kept exactly as it was produced.
An email address, if you choose to give one
Part way through the Assessment you are asked once for an email address. You can skip it and still receive the free result. If you later reach the interest-confirmation step and have not given one, an email address is required there. See "Email" below for exactly how it is used.
Checkout and interest confirmation
If you reach checkout, card details are entered into secure fields hosted by our payment provider, Primer, and its payment-processing providers; your card number never reaches Role Persona's code or servers. Primer attempts an authorization for the displayed order total, and the payment workflow is configured to cancel it immediately without capture. Your issuer may show a temporary pending hold. We record the selected plan, whether authorization succeeded, and payment identifiers, never card numbers.
Acquisition information
If you arrive through a tagged campaign link, we keep a limited set of source, medium, campaign, content, term, and Meta click/browser values first-party so we can associate the visit with this experiment. Those values are removed from the page URL before the funnel renders and are not currently sent to Meta.
Product analytics and session replay
Defined usage events (for example, that an Assessment was started or a result was viewed) and unmasked session replays, described in "Analytics and session replay" below.
Technical data
Ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, and time of request, handled by our hosting provider to serve the site and protect it from abuse.

How we use it

  • To run the Assessment, keep your place in it, and produce and preserve your result.
  • If you provide a preferred name, to address you sparingly in the Guide and personalize the result introduction.
  • To measure this experiment: how people move through the Assessment, whether they choose to give an email address, and whether they confirm interest in the proposed product.
  • If you confirm interest, to place you on the early list and send one notice if the proposed product becomes available.
  • To understand and improve how the site and Assessment work, including by reviewing unmasked session replays.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not use your information to send marketing, build advertising profiles, or make decisions about you that have legal or similar effects. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertising platforms.

AI processing

The Assessment is conducted by an AI guide. To interpret what you write and respond to it, your responses are routed through Vercel AI Gateway to one or more third-party AI model providers that process them on our behalf. The active model route may change. Providers approved for participant content must be contractually barred from training their models on your information, must limit retention and access, and must support deletion.

If you provide a preferred name, it may be sent to the active AI provider only on the limited Guide turns where the application permits its use. It is not sent to result synthesis and is not treated as career evidence. Your email address is never sent to an AI provider and is not part of the conversation the AI sees.

AI interpretations are exactly that: interpretations. They can be wrong or incomplete. The Terms explain the limits of the guidance the Assessment produces.

Email

Email is optional in the Assessment and required only at the interest-confirmation step if you have not already given one. We associate an address with your Assessment and any interest confirmation and use a protected, keyed digest to check whether the same address was used more than once.

If you successfully confirm interest, we place the address on the early list and may send one notice if the proposed product becomes available. You can ask privacy@rolepersona.com to remove you from that list at any time. Any availability email will identify us, include our postal address, and provide a working way to opt out of future commercial email. We do not send result or verification emails, newsletters, recurring product updates, or unrelated promotions, and we do not add the address to a general marketing list. If you give an address during the Assessment but do not confirm interest, we do not use it for proactive email. Providing an email does not create an account.

Analytics and session replay

We use PostHog to understand how the site and Assessment are used. Analytics is limited to a defined set of events we choose deliberately; broad automatic capture is turned off. Event data does not include what you write in the Assessment, your result, your preferred name, your email address, or career details.

We also use PostHog Session Replay to find problems in the journey. When replay is enabled, it is unmasked and may record page text, what you type in the Assessment, a preferred name shown in the conversation or result, email inputs, your personalized result, and checkout interactions outside the card fields. It cannot record card details because those are entered only inside the payment provider's own frames, which replay cannot see into. Automatic network capture is disabled, acquisition query values are removed from the page URL, and an operator can stop new recording without a deployment.

PostHog stores an identifier in your browser to connect events from the same visit.

Advertising

We do not currently use advertising pixels or send data to advertising platforms. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does and honor applicable privacy choices, including browser-level opt-out signals.

Service providers

The following companies process information on our behalf to run Role Persona. They are permitted to use it only to provide their service to us.

Vercel
Hosts the website and application and handles request traffic.
Vercel AI Gateway and AI model providers
Route and process Assessment responses under the conditions described in "AI processing". The active model provider may change within our approved routing policy.
Supabase
Stores Assessment data, results, the browser identity record, a preferred name if provided, limited acquisition information, and any email or interest confirmation you provide. These records are held server-side and are not readable by public database clients.
PostHog
Product analytics and unmasked session replay, as described above.
Primer and its payment-processing providers
Host the checkout payment fields, attempt the authorization, cancel it without capture, and return transaction status and identifiers. Role Persona does not receive the card number.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of people or the service, or as part of a business transfer, in which case this policy continues to apply to the transferred information.

Cookies and browser storage

Up to three kinds of browser storage are used:

  • The participant cookie described above. It is a first-party HttpOnly cookie that lasts for an extended period and is refreshed when you use the Assessment. Your browser may cap or clear it earlier. Clearing it means that browser can no longer reach its saved Assessment or result; the underlying records remain until we delete them.
  • A short-lived first-party HttpOnly attribution cookie is set only when an approved campaign parameter is present. It lasts up to seven days and is associated with your current Assessment when you next use the Assessment or result journey, or when a new Assessment starts.
  • The PostHog identifier used for analytics and session replay.

There are no advertising cookies. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the Assessment needs the participant cookie to work.

How long we keep information

Assessment content, preferred names, results, browser identity records, email addresses, and interest confirmations are kept until an authorized operator deletes them. There is currently no automatic expiry or deletion schedule for these records. Analytics and replay data are kept according to our PostHog configuration. Hosting logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time for security and operations.

If you want something deleted, ask us at privacy@rolepersona.com.

Your choices and requests

You can skip the preferred-name and email requests in the Assessment. If you joined the early list, you can ask privacy@rolepersona.com to remove you at any time. You can clear the participant cookie at any time, which ends that browser's link to its saved Assessment. You can block analytics scripts with browser tools.

There is no self-service privacy dashboard. To ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to delete it, email privacy@rolepersona.com. We handle each request manually and will respond as quickly as we reasonably can. A preferred name alone may not be enough to locate your records, so we may need the email address you used or other details; if we cannot identify which records are yours, we will tell you. When we delete on request, we remove the browser identity and the Assessment content, preferred name, result, email, and interest confirmation linked to it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, such as the right to know, correct, or delete personal information and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. You can exercise them through the same mailbox.

Security

Assessment content, preferred names, results, and email addresses are stored server-side and are not exposed to public database access. Access within our team is limited to what is needed to operate the service and handle requests. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information can never be accessed without authorization.

Children

Role Persona is not directed at children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Assessment, contact privacy@rolepersona.com and we will remove the information.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will post the updated version here and change the date at the top. Material changes to how we use information will be reflected before they take effect.
